Bulking up On the Go

In the hustle and bustle of summertime, we tend to lean towards fast food because of the convenience and accessibility rather than sticking to our nutrition plan. While there are some fast food choices that have attempted to provide healthier options, they often are not geared around a program designed for adding bulk and giving our bodies what is needed to increase mass. Here are some tips to incorporate this summer to assist in your journey to becoming bigger and stronger.

Meal Prep and Plan Ahead

Sometimes trips pop up spontaneously over the summer months but for the most part we plan, plan and plan some more to make sure all aspects of our trips are covered. We just forget about how to eat clean and avoid fast food stops. Make sure to pack your cooler for the car accordingly placing foods or drinks in order of when you will need them. Prepping and packing foods in controlled portion size and already mixed and measured will make it quick and easy to eat on the go.

Lean on your Shakes

While they may not be our first choice all the time and we will need to make sure we have meals with solid sources of protein, using our supplement shakes and powders on the go can get us from one meal to the other. Traveling with a pre-measured amount of powder to make a shake or drink can also cut down your travel time. Maybe preventing fast food or convenience store stops will get you to your destination faster and allow you more time to enjoy activities instead of spending time sitting in a drive-thru.

Snack Smart

There are plenty of snacks that beat an order of greasy fries and can give our bodies a valuable source of protein to help our nutrition plan. Options such as almonds, cashews, walnuts, peanut butter, protein bars, and cheeses can be great on the go snacks that can give you a full feeling longer and make the drive or ride both manageable and resourceful. Now summer roads trips do not have to set you back in your quest for a better body, and you can have your fun in the sun and eat clean in the process.
